Using let's encrypt on a host not supported

#1

My host, inmotionhosting doesn’t “support” let’s encrypt although they say I can install it. I have a VPS, no problems getting IP addresses. The question I have is will I have to keep renewing it? Will the certificate work for me?
Thank you,

Are you using a control panel to manage your sites, or are things configured manually? If you’re using manual setups, it’s pretty easy to use certbot or another compatible tool to get certificates issued and renewed.

With a VPS you have full control over your set-up, so yes, Let’s Encrypt will work for you, although some will depend on the software you’re using.

Renewal shouldn’t be a problem if your VPS set-up supports a capable client.
