Sorry, most of the providers here don’t give me the right to administrate the DNS entries for myself.
(Only partly for extra money over an web interface.)

In some cases if you have registered your own domain, the domain registrar may be able to do DNS hosting for you and allow you to make changes via an API. In that case you would just tell your hosting provider that they are not going to be your DNS host.

This option is obviously not available everywhere; it depends on the particular domain registrar that you’re using (and indeed whether you registered the domain yourself prior to signing up with the hosting provider). But we did have someone in another thread who apparently was in a position to do this and get certificate this way even though the web host wasn’t prepared to directly support Let’s Encrypt.
