Let’s Encrypt is a public CA. It does not issue certificates for internal names. You can only get certificates from Let’s Encrypt for DNS names on the public Internet. It is not essential for the device named to actually be connected to the Internet, but its name must appear in the public DNS.
My name is Adrian and I am a Supervisor here in the TimeClock Plus Technical Support department! I’d love to help you get setup and ready to go.
Please give me a call at your convenience at (325) 223 9300 and we can help determine if you need the SSL certificate, and what our steps are in getting a CSR for you.
We are open from 7-7 Central, Monday through Friday. We look forward to hearing from you!
