The Certificate has a name mismatch

But the SMTP banner seems correct:
220-mail.4elife.net ESMTP Postfix

rDNS:

nslookup 146.59.233.14
Name: mail.4elife.net

So, I don't know why they are throwing up a flag on that one.

And the TLS issue is "work-in-progress".
You now have the cert.
You only need to get Postfix to use it.

Seems I solve one problem which causes another,. The smpt thin shouldnt be an issue. Ive not got port 25 open. And wont. Or at least, so far at least, it shouldnt need to be open.

I need to get on with something else for now so will have to return to this. I dint have an actual domain name mail.4elife.net pointing to the server origianlly. I just pointed to my IP in the 4elife.net zone fine. BUt I added it in my hostting panel to solve the dns and mx errors. But now it has new ones for me.

I will give the propogation a few hours then take another look focusing on the smpt thing. But like I say, 25 is locked. Thanks again for your support, you're kicking my in butt, into gear. I will respond here later when I return to this if thats okay. If you arent around thats fine. Much appreciated either way. All the best.

Im concerned about your last remark, getting postfix to use it? I'll take a look later as I wasnt aware of this??? Thanks again. Have a good one.

I think you do have it open.
OR, at least, you did when I tried it:

telnet mail.4elife.net 25
Trying 146.59.233.14...
Connected to mail.4elife.net.
Escape character is '^]'.
220-mail.4elife.net ESMTP Postfix

You too two!
Cheers from Miami :beers:

I will look at the firewall shortly. Thanks for that. But then if you can connect to it then why cant mxtools? Have great day., Later.

Thanks a lot. I closed it. But if I remember rightly when I installed the server... I believe outlook or somethiing else required it open. Although I didnt like the idea due to the relay thing... whcih is another thing I dont understand.

I followed lynuxbabes post to install, and so I will have a read of it when I get time later. to refresh my memory.

I just tested and it needs to be open if not, it doesnt receive, but sends. Is that dangerous?

No when properly configured.
Start by making sure it's not an open relay.

Thanks Rudy. I believe I set all that up originally, but I will double check everything hopefully this week. Thanks again for the help, you are a rockstar.
