Is there a way to test your SSL certificate even before installing it? For instance copying and pasting data from the certificate on any online service? Or is it unsafe to share this data, should be kept private?

NEVER SHARE THE PRIVATE KEY!
NEVER EVER WITH ANYONE ANYWHERE.
Other than that, it’s OK.
You could use OpenSSL to verify they pair correctly, etc.

Hi @IdolR
it's always your installation. So if your configuration is bad, you have a valid certificate - and a not working configuration.
Please read some basics about certificates. That's a terrible idea. And it would require
to revoke the certificate. And the "online service" wouldn't have your domain name -> so the name of the certificate would be wrong.
