Standalone mode: allow retry or add delay

Hi,

is there a way to make the LetsEncrypt client when running in standalone mode to wait for a given delay or make retries when trying to be contacted ?
I am using the client docker image in an OpenShift cluster which uses a Kubernetes service to make the standalone client reachable, but it takes a few seconds to be up and running, and in the meantime my router intercepts the HTTPS query and make the certificate issuing fails.

Edit: I am using OpenShift 3 (not OpenShit 2 online for which some messages have already been posted)
