Staging renewal fails with "error checking key quality"

I use Debian 12. To get a certificate for my domain, I did everything according to the instruction for Debian 10 here Certbot Instructions | Certbot
I got the certificate successfully, but the dry-run renewal fails with the following output:

Failed to renew certificate bcservers.org with error: Unable to register an account with ACME server. Error returned by the ACME server: error checking key quality

All simulated renewals failed. The following certificates could not be renewed:
/etc/letsencrypt/live/bcservers.org/fullchain.pem (failure)

1 renew failure(s), 0 parse failure(s)

What did I do wrong?

Nothing. Think you are probably getting the same http error 500 as another person just reported. I can also reproduce the problem. Hopefully staff will provide status about this soon

Oh, OK, I understand. Thank you for your reply!
I'll just wait for now then.

Is it working for you now? The others with the 500 error are fixed but yours was slightly different

This problem should be resolved. Like the others, it was caused by the database being unavailable -- we have a database table of bad keys which must be consulted.

@mcpherrinm and @MikeMcQ thank you for the help!
I checked again now, and the renewal went successfully.
