That is correct yes, another alternative that you could choose, especially if you run a paid site or a site with only a small number of members all known to you, is to let them upload the image to your site, and then the image will be displayed by your site (securely). Of course this uses some more bandwidth, and your forum software may not allow it, so either way it may not be practical, but I thought I would mention it.
