I am doing service nginx restart and it logs out of Gui and then it comes back with no results. Then I tried service nginx stop and I lost Gui completely
I don't know what "Gui" entails, but if nginx serves it, it makes sense it doesn't work if nginx is stopped.

No not in this case - I am talking about TrueNAS gui and I figured it out - had to switch to http instead of https since the cert does not work and I logged back in the system and started nginx but to no avail. Should I open another ticket with the new issue maybe?

What's a better way though? To add or replace the name to :renewed cert does not work or something like that? I tried systemctl restart nginx and systemctl restart middlewared - still no go
That sounds like multiple issues:
- add name to cert
- change name of cert
- cert not working
[which don't seem very related to this topic - I'd start a new one and we'll go from there]
