Renewal configuration file

Here is the command I run to get a certificate for a new domain:
# letsencrypt --renew-by-default certonly --webroot --webroot-path /path/to/webroot -d myDomain.com

This works with no issue, but something puzzles me. The newly created /etc/letsencrpyt/renewal/myDomain.conf has its mode set to executable (-rwx).
Is there any specific reason to mode this file executable when it is just a configuration file (usually read/write are enough)?
