Partial Expiry of Multiple Domain certificates

#1

First of all, thanks a lot for this free tool. As a non-profit organisation, you already saved us a lot of money.

We have - I suppose - a Multiple Domain certificate

The domains are:

autocosti.info
autocostos.info
autocosts.info
autocosturi.info
autocouts.info
autocustos.info
autokoszty.info

I got this email today

Your certificate (or certificates) for the names listed below will expire in
20 days (on 26 May 18 18:19 +0000). Please make sure to renew
your certificate before then, or visitors to your website will encounter errors.

autocosti.info
autocouts.info

But when I ran this command:

sudo certbot certificates

It produced this output:

Certificate Name: autocosti.info
Domains: autocosti.info autocostos.info autocosts.info autocosturi.info autocouts.info autocustos.info autokoszty.info
Expiry Date: 2018-07-20 20:20:42+00:00 (VALID: 75 days)
Certificate Path: /etc/letsencrypt/live/autocosti.info/fullchain.pem
Private Key Path: /etc/letsencrypt/live/autocosti.info/privkey.pem

The operating system my web server runs on is (include version):
Ubuntu 16.04.4 LTS

I can login to a root shell on my machine (yes or no, or I don’t know): yes

I’m using a control panel to manage my site (no, or provide the name and version of the control panel): no

So, it expires within 20 or 75 days? Or some expiry within 20 and others within 75?
But a multiple domain certificate doesn’t have a common expiry date?

Hi @jfoclpf,

Your certificate is ok. In the email you have received, can you see the word staging? Because seems that the certificate expiring in 20 days was issued by staging server so i suppose you were testing it and issued a certificate for those 2 domains but as i said, using the staging server.

As far as i can see, nothing to worry about.

Cheers,
sahsanu

@sahsanu thank you for the quick reply

But I cite ipis verbis the email I got and there is no word “staging”

For any questions or support, please visit https://community.letsencrypt.org/.
Unfortunately, we can’t provide support by email.

For details about when we send these emails, please visit
https://letsencrypt.org/docs/expiration-emails/. In particular, note
that this reminder email is still sent if you’ve obtained a slightly
different certificate by adding or removing names. If you’ve replaced
this certificate with a newer one that covers more or fewer names than
the list above, you may be able to ignore this message.

Anyway, cool that is everything ok

Btw, this is a Multidomain certificate, right? And it has a common expiry date for all domains, right?

thanks

Sorry, i made a mistake checking your certs. Yes you issued a real certificate that is expiring in 20 days but after that you expanded that certificate to include more domains, so, as i said, nothing to worry about.

Yes, all domains included in a certificate have the same expiring date.

@jfoclpf Hi. I edited the unsubscribe link out of your post, since someone else could click on it and unsubscribe you. (If it hasn’t already happened.) I hope that’s okay.

It is perfectly ok. Thanks
