It produced this output: This site can’t be reached

farmingaloha.com took too long to respond.

I can login to a root shell on my machine (yes or no, or I don't know): YES

I'm using a control panel to manage my site (no, or provide the name and version of the control panel): NO

The version of my client is (e.g. output of certbot --version or certbot-auto --version if you're using Certbot): certbot 1.13.0

I had no errors installing the software and certificate, etc. But when I try to use https:// to access web site I get a timeout error in the browser.

Any ideas?

Perhaps very obvious, but have you checked for firewalls blocking port 443, as the error said? Or perhaps a missing portmap in your NAT router? Things like that.

Duh! You were right! I had the port forwarding misconfigured and I didn't think to look there because the certificate took. Thanks for pointing this noob in the right direction!
