Sorry for long delay. Before starting on --apache plug-in ... do you still want to use the addmoreroutes.com apex domain?

I ask because you got a renewal cert for that apex on Jul29 the same as for your lab subdomain. Which is fine. But, your apache server is not sending out the correct cert for it. In fact, it sends out the lab cert for requests to the apex.
