The CAA record is optional. It restricts a Certificate Authority from issuing certs if you don't want them to. There are other formats for the CAA record but if that DNS provider does not support that format you won't be able to use that exact one. Switching DNS providers is your only option.
You could use a CNAME for the CAA record to a DNS provider that does it correctly. But, if you do that you might be better off just switching DNS provider.
