Installing a certificate in a LAMP configuration

Please show:
ls -l /opt/lampp/apache2/

[&2* readers: Get involved; Be heard. It starts with: if you read something you like, then like it :heart:]

This is it:

$ sudo ls -l /opt/lampp/apache2/
total 16
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root    118 Aug 27  2019 README.txt
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root   4096 Oct 21 19:50 conf
drwxr-xr-x 2 root daemon 4096 Oct 21 18:02 htdocs
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root   4096 Oct 21 18:02 scripts

Please show:
ls -l /opt/lampp/apache2/conf/

[&2* readers: Get involved; Be heard. It starts with: if you read something you like, then like it :heart:]

It returned this:

$sudo ls -l /opt/lampp/apache2/conf/
total 4
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 239 Oct 21 18:04 httpd.conf

Now we are getting somewhere!
Please show file:
cat /opt/lampp/apache2/conf/httpd.conf

[&2* readers: Get involved; Be heard. It starts with: if you read something you like, then like it :heart:]

Good :slight_smile: I get this now:

$ sudo cat /opt/lampp/apache2/conf/httpd.conf
Alias /bitnami/ "/opt/lampp/apache2/htdocs/"
Alias /bitnami "/opt/lampp/apache2/htdocs"
<Directory "/opt/lampp/apache2/htdocs">
    Options Indexes FollowSymLinks
    AllowOverride All
    Order allow,deny
    Allow from all
</Directory>

My arch enemy - lol

OK this is more complicated than I originally thought.
It seems like there are two versions of Apache installed, but it might just be bitnami being bitnami.

You should maybe review this doc before continuing:
https://docs.bitnami.com/aws/how-to/generate-install-lets-encrypt-ssl/

Sorry, perhaps better this one:

Will it be easier to remove LAMP and use the standard Apache for which certification works out of the box, and manually configure PHP and MySQL? The reason for using LAMP is to to benefit from its ready-to-go solution (I don't need to do PHP/SQL configuration myself), but it seems that now it has an expensive overhead when it comes to certification with Let's Encrypt.

If you can "start over", yes, this path seems to never reach the Wizard of Oz.

Lol, Winged Bitnami monkeys.
I will do the Apache thing for the time being.

Countless thanks for the amount of effort and time you put in helping me :slight_smile:

You should be well versed on getting that going (by now).
But if you should run into any trouble, just holler.

Cheers from Miami :beers:
