# How to install SSL on Windows Server for the first time

I’m not sure how much knowledge you have here, so I’m just going to point you in the right direction. If you have any specific questions, please ask them.

To get started using Let’s Encrypt on Windows, you’ll need a compatible client that can handle the certificate process. You can find at least five different ones over on the [List of Client Implementations](https://community.letsencrypt.org/t/list-of-client-implementations/2103) topic. Take a look and use what fits your needs best.
