Having issues setting up certbot --nginx for a vaultwarden docker container

hmm...
Unless the external port 80 and port 443 are not being forwarded [NATted] to the same internal IP...
Then we have a much more complicated scenario.
One FQDN:

  • with one IP outside
  • with two IPs inside

I can connect from both windows pc and linux laptop to the server now that I added the entries in "hosts" as you mentionned.

It actually redirects me to https directly also so it's great!

I'm not quite sure I understand though.
Why didn't I have to specify a specific port in the hosts files?

Nonetheless, I'm very grateful for your help, thank you very much!

It is a DNS "override" file.
DNS does not control port usage.
DNS only deals with names and IPs.
[for the most part - anything else it can do is way off-topic]
