Expected formatting of the public key

#1

Hi all! I am writing a small ACME client in ruby, and am currently implementing the newAccount resource code. I’m reading the draft, but it isn’t quite clear on the formatting of the public key for the JWT field. Is it supposed to be PEM formatting, or more broken down? If it matters, at the moment this client is only configured to generate EC256 account keys. Thanks!

https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc7517#appendix-A.1 but you don’t need use or kid.

Edit: You can find how to encode the specific curve parameters in the associated JWA RFC: https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc7518#section-6.2.1 , but it might just be easier to copy another ACME client or use a JOSE library.

Perfect, this was exactly what I was looking for. I’ll definitely check out a JWT/JOSE library though. Thanks!
