# Expanding Certificate

Hello,

If i have a certificate for Domain x and want to expand te certificate to be valid for Domainx and www.domainx.

is The expansion of the certificate aso hitting the 5 Cerrts / 7 Days or not?

No.

as per the [rate limits](https://letsencrypt.org/docs/rate-limits/)

The limit of 5 Certs / 7 days is for Duplicate Certificate. A certificate is considered a duplicate of an earlier certificate if they contain the exact same set of hostnames, ignoring capitalization and ordering of hostnames.

It would count towards the Certificates per Registered Domain (which is 20 per week).
