Escape from GoDaddy

My domain is: www.impossiblyglamorous.com

The operating system my web server runs on is (include version): Windows

My hosting provider, if applicable, is: GoDaddy

I can login to a root shell on my machine (yes or no, or I don’t know): I don’t know

I couldn’t afford to continue the GoDaddy SSL, and I want to install a free one. But now that they deactivated my GoDaddy SSL, I can’t access the WordPress admin. I’m really frustrated, and I feel like this is extortion. Anyway, I want to install free SSL. Don’t know where to even start.

Hi,

Are you using Managed Wordpress Hosting from Godaddy?

If so, unfortunately, you must use Godaddy certificate if you don’t want to switch products/providers. (Since GoDaddy confirmed that the Managed Wordpress Hosting could only use an “automatic installation” of Godaddy certificate)

If not, what product/service are you on with GoDaddy? Different produces may have different methods.

Thank you

I have Deluxe Web Hosting Linux. I can’t use 3rd party SSL apparently.

Hi,

If you have deluxe hosting, do you have access to cPanel?

Thank you

So basically all my websites now went dark and I must use a UCCSSL. I can move them to a 3rd party hosting or I can move to a GoDaddy CPanel hosting.

Hi,

I do believe that Deluxe Web Hosting Linux utilize cPanel hosting.
Could you please try to double check if you are really on Deluxe Linux Web Hosting?

If you could log in to cPanel (normally have a port ending in 2083), please check if your interface has an option called SSL/TLS manager.

Thank you

And if not cPanel, what access do you have for your site? Another panel? SSH access with root?

Hi @kingcharles0921

you send http over port 443.

That

http://www.impossiblyglamorous.com:443/

works. So first remove your redirect http -> https, then your page is visible via http.

Then fix the certificate problem.
