DNS problems while renewing a certificate for the first time

Hi there!

My provider supports Let’s Encrypt via a Plesk Plugin. I created a certificate for stn.io initially without problems. The renewal should work with the single click of a button, but I got an error, that said:

“Failed letsencrypt execution: Failed authorization procedure. www.stn.io (http-01): urn:acme:error:connection :: The server could not connect to the client to verify the domain :: DNS problem: networking error looking up CAA for www.stn.io, stn.io (http-01): urn:acme:error:connection :: The server could not connect to the client to verify the domain :: DNS problem: networking error looking up A for stn.io

The DNS configuration hasn’t changed since the intial creation of the first certificate. And a test showed clearly that the DNS configuration is working well…

What can I do?

There were two outages recently that affected domain validation and could’ve resulted in errors like the one you’re seeing. You can check the exact time here, any chance this roughly matches with the times you attempted to renew? In that case, it should work if you just try again.

Tried again, worked this time. Strange.
