In the Server Fault page I linked, the question was posted in April 2013, the answer was posted in May 2017, and the final kudos was posted September 2020. I think this relic still exists.

I haven't been following the thread too closely, but there is technically a difference between private keys with BEGIN PRIVATE KEY vs BEGIN RSA PRIVATE KEY. The former implies PKCS8 that could be RSA or EC. The latter implies PKCS1 that is specifically RSA.
