Hm, configuration seems to be in order too.. Very curious.. Could you perhaps post the output of:

ls -l /usr/share/jitsi-meet/.well-known/acme-challenge/

so we can double check we don't overlook something?

Hm, in hindsight that makes sense: when creating the test file Test-File-1234 you were getting permission errors.. That makes sense, as the Bash function > doesn't work properly with sudo. Please try running:

echo "test file 1234" | sudo tee /usr/share/jitsi-meet/.well-known/acme-challenge/Test-File-1234

After that command we should be able to view http://sherlockmeet.expertsystem.co.in/.well-known/acme-challenge/Test-File-1234

Hmm, OK, seems to work indeed.. Now we need to figure out why the Let's Encrypt servers don't see it.. Gimme a sec. (Also due to my dinner..)

I don't have any reason why the script shouldn't work at the moment. Could you please try again and post its output?

So we're back at the beginning.. :confused: This is a very odd error.. Downloading such a tiny text file should not result in any timeout after the connection has been established. It also doesn't like you're running it on a tiny mini-computer such as a Raspberry Pi or something, looking at the 16 GB of RAM I saw in the top output.

What's in your nginx logs at the time the timeout after connection occurred?

I'm afraid that's not something I'm available to do. Maybe someone else might though.

Nginx should have log files somewhere. I'm not familiar with Jitsi nor Ubuntu (nor nginx on a daily basis for that matter), so I'm not sure where it puts those files. But a quick Google search shows they should be in /var/log/nginx/

If it's a "secondary validation" error, than the "primary validation" is probably succeeding, but not enough of the secondary sites are working. I'm betting there's some overly-aggressive firewall that's trying to block connections in an unusual way, perhaps because it's seeing the traffic coming from AWS.
