Automatically renewal via cronjob doesn't not work - dry run without error

My domain is: https://support.ecomsilio.de/

The operating system my web server runs on is (include version): Cent OS 7

My hosting provider, if applicable, is: 1&1 / ionos

I can login to a root shell on my machine (yes or no, or I don’t know): yes

I’m using a control panel to manage my site (no, or provide the name and version of the control panel): no

I have set a cronjob to automatically renew the certificate:

  • 2 * * 7 /opt/letsencrypt/letsencrypt-auto renew >> /var/log/le-renew.log

The certificate does not renew so I ran

All renewal attempts failed. The following certs could not be renewed:
  /etc/letsencrypt/live/support.ecomsilio.de/fullchain.pem (failure)

I than ran a dry run

./opt/letsencrypt/letsencrypt-auto renew --dry-run

It doesn’t have a problem. So I could just renew it manually but would have to do that every 3 months. It would be great if it would work automatically.

ok, that makes sense. But one (maybe stupid) question.

I installed letsencrypt via

git clone https://github.com/letsencrypt/letsencrypt /opt/letsencrypt  
cd /opt/letsencrypt  
./letsencrypt-auto --nginx -d support.ecomsilio.de  

Currently there is no certbot on the server. Can i simply install certbot with yum install certbot without the risk of breaking the current configuration?

If I write certbot, use your ./letsencrypt-auto.
