# Asustor NAS - Certificate

I have received a notification to update a certificate. Indeed, it expires on the 16/1/2024 (UK Date). When I try and renew thru the Asustor application, I am presented with the following message.

The number of certificates issued by Let's Encrypt for your domain name has reached its limit. (Ref. 5019)

There doesn't seem to be anything I can do about it, and if Lets Encrypt knows this, why does it offer to renew the certficate? I have only had this NAS for 2.5 years and have had certificates without issue before.

My domain is:nas9mwp.myasustor.com

I ran this command:Settings - Certificate Manager

It produced this output:The number of certificates issued by Let's Encrypt for your domain name has reached its limit. (Ref. 5019)

My web server is (include version):

The operating system my web server runs on is (include version):

My hosting provider, if applicable, is:

I can login to a root shell on my machine (yes or no, or I don't know):

I'm using a control panel to manage my site (no, or provide the name and version of the control panel):Yes

The version of my client is (e.g. output of `certbot --version` or `certbot-auto --version` if you're using Certbot):ADM 4.2.6.ROR2

I'm not too familiar with their error codes...  
But it sounds like you are trying to obtain a new cert and that domain has already been issued its' limit [for the week].  
Which doesn't make much sense because you should be trying to get a NEW cert, just renewing an existing cert:

So...  
My best guess is more than one thing has changed/gone wrong.  
Like:

- something changed and is now blocking HTTP from reaching your NAS
- during your attempt to renew the cert you managed to remove it and are now actually trying to get a new one

[just my wild guessing - very difficult to say for certain what is going one inside that NAS]
