I’m just trying to add support for short-lived profiles and IP address certs to Auto Encrypt and I don’t seem to get any profile info other than default using Pebble v2.8.0 (vs Staging, where I see all the different profiles being supported).
Opened an issue here:
Has support for short-lived profiles and IP addresses been implemented in Pebble yet?
(I run unit tests in Auto Encrypt on Pebble and Staging; most frequently on the former as it is much quicker + doesn’t have rate limits.)
Yes, both is supported. You can configure whatever profiles you want (see the answer in your issue for more details), and IP addresses also work (for quite many years already).
Thanks, I guess I just assumed that it would, by default, have the same profiles Let’s Encrypt has (or at least have an easy way to configure it for that). Appreciate the pointer, will configure it myself
One of the goals is making sure people don't over-fit to details of how Let's Encrypt currently works. Other ACME CAs will make different decisions than us! And we may make changes in the future, too. So in some ways, Pebble is deliberately not the same as Let's Encrypt.
